I've actually been spending some time in the dye room, getting more Ice Dyes and Thermofax screens made and updating some items in my Etsy shop....
First I designed this thermofax screen from some fabric that I had stitched up and painted -
After the paint was dry, I unpicked the threads and ironed the fabric flat
It reminded me of little people figures doing semaphore....if you're not sure what that is....Google it!
So then I made a thermofax screen:
Which you can buy here: https://www.etsy.com/ca/your/shops/FabricImagery/tools/FabricImagery/ca/listings/section:5879181/492204086
And I tested it on some fabric...one print was good, so I did a whole bunch:
And I like the fabric so much that now it's for sale here: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/509276175/fat-quarter-rainbow-people?ref=shop_home_active_1
And that's the story of what happens when you have an idea.....what's your idea???? I'll bet it would make beautiful fabric!

New Fat Quarters - Great Printing Technique
I've been using some of my print rollers that a friend makes. They are old rolling pins that have been taken apart, lathed into designs and then put back together. They work very well with both textile paints and thickened dyes. I'm sure they'd work with other media as well. You can check them out here: http://studiogart.com/rollers/
Here are some of the fat quarters I now have for sale at: http://fabricimagery.com/category/fat-quarters-pr-st/
Nothing subtle about this piece!, its been dyed, soy wax resisted and then roller printed. One of my favs!

Its all about green and the tropics here!
A little more subdued, perfect as a background of applique or mixed media.....

Student Work
I want to show some students work from this year. These are from some of the workshops I've taught and books I've written. I'm so proud of the wonderful work they have done!
Daniela Tiger made this wall hanging from my book Fat Quarter Frenzy. The project is called Empress Tiles and uses 4 1/2" strips in a "stack, slash, shuffle and sew" technique.

Janice Hebert made these two quilts using my Shattered Angles technique. This project is so versatile for Jelly Rolls, strips, and scraps, most quilters can't make just one! You can find it in my Accent on Angles book at www.fabricimagery.com
Louise Hardy from PEI made this Shattered Angles quilt when I visited the island last May as part of the Agnes Boal Bursary from the Canadian Quilters Society. We had a wonderful time!
I teach the Shattered Angles technique to many groups and guilds, maybe you would like to learn? Just email me and we can plan a workshop!

colours of blues, greens and golds. Can’t you see this fat quarter in some of
your art work? Textile paints were stencilled onto black fabric and then heat
set. Stencil is included to make more of your designs! Stencil measures 6″
square. Order this one HERE
Gorgeously funky fat quarter that's been hand
printed with a Steampunk stencil. We used textile paints on hand dyed fabric
and heat set for permanency. Fun as a feature fabric, measures 18" x

New Fat Quarters
Just put the finishing touches on some new fabrics I've created and put into my shop. I've used print rollers made by my friend Gloria Daly and textile paints, including an Interference Violet. Quite yummy!

Here's a couple pictures of Gloria's paint rollers being made and hung up to dry! Who would have thought rolling pins could be used this way. Check out Gloria's website here.
