Quilt Market

Its been a hectic couple of weeks and I've spent the last few days catching up with all my work. I was in Portland, Oregon with Daphne, my business partner and our two daughters Lindsay and Bronwen. We spent one day sightseeing and shopping and then began work with our patterns and book promotions. We had a booth set up where shops and distributors checked us out and saw the new designs and the techniques we use. It was a lot of fun, exhausting and exciting. It was perhaps our 14th Market so we know what its all about, but we see the new fabrics, products and themes that quilters will be working with in the next few months.
What fun!

Springtime Blessings !

I was on Pender Island this weekend (its one of the Gulf Islands near Victoria) and out walking with my daughter. There are always lots of deer roaming wild, a very good reason we don't bother with a garden there! We happened to catch a brief glimpse of the new fawn with its mother. We only caught their rear ends but it was sweet to see the little one wobbling after "mum". A nice treat so close to Mother's Day!

Fabric Dyeing

I taught a dyeing class a couple of months ago in Nanaimo, BC. We did several different colour runs as well as lots of secondary and tertiary colour blends. One student, Briony, made great use of her fabric and did a terrific wall hanging. Well done!

I'll be doing this class a couple more times in June, so if you are interested, let me know. Its easy and fun!
